LINC y Gogledd – Libraries 4 U

Posted by LibeRaCe on September 9, 2008

Your College libraries have just got bigger! We can borrow items for you from North Wales Public Libraries, Coleg Menai and Bangor University.  The  libraries in the LINC scheme are sharing their catalogues and resources so if we don’t have it we could just find it in one of the LINC libraries. The system is simple: just ask a member of staff at the library counter to make a search and we’ll have the book delivered to the college for you to collect, it will then be issued to you just like any other book. Click onto LINC and open up a wealth of information!

Changes to My Athens

Posted by LibeRaCe on September 8, 2008

When you log into Athens this year you will notice a difference to your My Athens homepage. It now looks more like your personal homepage, containing panels that include links to the college website, librarycatalogue, Moodle and the library blog.

You can either add your favorite resources from the resource list or let Athens add them automatically. Athens also enables you to add a Google Scholar or Wikipedia panel to your front page by clicking on the add panel on the top left of the page, which then gives you the option to add a listed panel or add oneofyour favorite web sites by clicking on Add your own feed panel and copying and pasting the URL into the Feed URL bar.

Staff and students who had access to Athens last year will have to fill in another form to activate their account for the academic year 2008-2009.

Welcome to the Autumn Term 2008 – Whats New?

Posted by LibeRaCe on September 4, 2008

The summer has ended, if it ever began, and everybody is fresh after their summer break, but, alas, induction week is upon us and staff are busy preparing the library for the new term. So, we at the library would like to point you in the direction of a quick and easyway to make requests, comments and suggestions.

Liberace now has four new pages for you to add comments and suggestions. There is a Ask a Librarian Page, for you to pick our brains on any topic. We have also added a Book Request page for new course material, Suggestions page, for any ideas you may have for improving the library service. We have also added a page containing the library and IT Workshop opening hours.
