The library has just purchased the following series of fantasy literature:

A Song of Ice and Fire

Book 1 – A Game of Thrones (Click on the images for reader reviews)

The first book introduces us to the continent of Westeros and the families plotting and scheming against each other for control of the land and population. Winter is coming and with it an ancient supernatural evil, so old it is now believed to be myth!

Book 2 – A Clash of Kings

The seven kingdoms continue to be fought over by the different royal houses. Dragons are raised and the men of the Night Watch prepare to fight the walking dead that creep south with winter.

Book 3 –  A Storm of Swords 1: Steel and Snow

The epic series continues with the Starks in the north defending their land against the Machiavellian Lanisters in the south. While they concentrate on the Lanisters, the Wild People, who practice ancient dark magic, prepare to invade the north from beyond the great wall.

Book 4 – A Storm of Swords 2: Blood and Gold

A Storm of Swords continues with the Stark family scattered and Robb Stark still wearing his crown but, in thrall to Walder Frey, Lord of the Crossing. Daenerys Stormborn, the last born of the Dragon King, ravages the slave traders and endeavors to hire mercenaries for her revenge against the families of Westeros.

Book 5 – A Feast for Crows

The Lannisters are back in power and the war is over, for now! Vengeance is brewing and new conflicts are igniting! In the North the mysterious Others threaten the wall.
