Facebook in the Classroom

Do you encourage your students to discuss work related issues on Facebook or do you find it a distraction from work? While I’m writing this within a busy IT Workshop, I can see it being used on just about every computer! Here it is tolerated only if it is used alongside academic work as a communication tool, as e-mail is(was) used. Those students just wasting time are asked to make way for students wanting to work. One thing is for sure, you can’t ignore it! Do you use it or ban it completely?
